This was my third year performing at Traditions at the Glen’s New Year’s Eve party and by far the best yet!

For an event like this, the typical setup time is about 4 hours. That gives us time to set up the main sound system, the video screens, the photo booth, and the uplighting fixtures. For this event there was a second room outside the main ballroom where guests could gather, so that means running extra speakers. We have the ability to do this wirelessly, but at this venue the speakers have to be too far from the main sound system for a reliable wireless signal, and that means running cable. 175 feet of cable, to be exact!

Usually it’s just me doing the bulk of this work but for larger shows there will be a second person to help out with the photo booth and the lighting. Once all of the main equipment is set everything is thoroughly tested and the finishing touches are put on any custom video presentations and monograms, and finally the light show is tweaked. After all that it’s time to get changed and mentally prepared to perform. We think all the effort is worth it, which is why we do all of this at every single event we do!

September 3, 2011 VLOG | Farmer’s Museum Cooperstown

Everybody chose to get married in September this year! This was my 2nd of 3 weddings this weekend and my first time performing at Farmer’s Museum in Cooperstown, NY.

I didn’t know what to expect from the museum, but it was gorgeous! I would definitely recommend making a stop there if you ever take a pilgrimage to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Really, I don’t think I realized how much more to Cooperstown there was to see.

The night could not have gone better. The guests were so energetic right from the start, literally… We started the dancing before dinner!

April 30, 2011 Vlog | Wedding at John Joseph Inn

It was a beautiful Saturday, really perfect weather for a wedding in Central NY. The setting was the gorgeous John Joseph Inn & Elizabeth Restaurant in Groton, NY.

This was a very small reception of less than 30 guests so we were inside the restaurant for dinner and dancing. Even though their numbers were small, this group had no shortage of energy, and danced the whole night through.

Rebello-Lucas Reception | Traditions at the Glen

I find myself at Traditions at the Glen quite often and honestly I couldn’t be happier about it. I just enjoy working with the staff there and have developed a very good rapport with them over the many events I’ve performed there.

On this day we were celebrating Steve & Emily’s nuptials and we really pulled out all of the stops. There was uplighting, a monogram on the dance floor, not 1 but 2 video screens for slide shows, and a photo booth.

There was a lot going on and it was hard to capture everything, but I’ve put together some of the highlights in my very first V-Log. Enjoy!

July 3, 2010 Wedding | Traditions at the Glen

I expected great things of my wedding yesterday and they did not disappoint! From the moment the wedding party made their entrances, each to a song they custom selected, there was no doubt this was going to be a fun party!

In addition to custom songs for each couple of the wedding party, we also personalized the parent dances with slide shows playing in the background:

Denise and Paul Jo-Anne and Ben

There were few formalities, but it was for the best. After a very casual “fruit tart cutting” ceremony and the parent dances, the guests took to the dance floor and stayed there the rest of the night. All-in-all a wonderful way to kick off 4th of July weekend!
